Abstract
Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) is not merely a programming technique; it is a way
of perceiving and organizing the world through object logic. This publication is designed
to guide the student through the transition from writing linear scripts to engineering
complex, scalable systems.
The primary question students often ask is why move away from simple procedural logic?
The answer lies in the scale of modern software. In an era where applications consist of
millions of lines of code, procedural programming often leads to "spaghetti code" which
are unmanageable, fragile, and difficult to debug.
Students need OOP because it provides a mental framework for managing complexity. By
treating data and behavior as a single unit (the object), students learn to build software
that mirrors real-world entities, making the logic more intuitive and the system more
resilient to change.
However, writing code is only one part of the equation. This course places equal emphasis
on Object-Oriented Modeling. For a future engineer, the ability to model a system by
abstracting, categorizing, and defining the interactions between components before any
code is written is a critical skill. Whether the task involves designing a software
architecture or an industrial production line, modeling allows for the validation of logic
and ensures the overall integrity of the system.
Our aim is to introduce students to Object-Oriented Programming and Modeling for the
design of robust systems within the modern industrial landscape
