This final-year project presents the design and development of an I–V curve tracer for photovoltaic systems. The device is used to analyse and display the electrical characteristics of solar panels by plotting their I–V curves, measuring key parameters such as the short-circuit current (Isc) and open-circuit voltage (Voc), and calculating the output power and fill factor. The system includes a coloured display and data storage functionality for measurement monitoring. After simulating and validating the electronic circuits, a prototype was implemented and tested both in the FABLAB and with a real photovoltaic panel to verify its proper operation and performance.
